SAN FRANCISCO – THX, renowned for the certification of best-in-class cinemas and consumer electronics, today announced that Ty Ahmad-Taylor reached the end of his contract term and is moving on from his role as chief executive officer. Min-Liang Tan will be formally taking up the role as chief executive officer of THX and will serve as dual CEO to THX and Razer. Ahmad-Taylor was brought on by THX in November 2015, prior to the business being acquired by Razer in October 2016, to ensure THX operations were healthy through acquisition and transition. The transfer of authority has been deliberate and smooth. Tan established Razer in 2005 and has grown the company to be one of the largest global brands in the gaming industry. He was named one of the “Top 10 Most Influential Leaders in Tech” by Juniper Research as well as one of “The 25 Most Creative People in Tech” by Business Insider. In his new role as THX CEO, Tan will be focusing on growing the THX brand globally (including driving the company’s China strategy) and driving the product roadmap with the team, as well charting out the long-term strategy for the audio-visual giant. “Much is happening in the entertainment space, from new technologies such as virtual reality to the convergence of the various entertainment segments such as gaming, movies and music,” says Tan. “I intend for THX to continue our focus on delivering the best entertainment experiences to the world and to ensure that our phenomenal team here at THX have the right resources to continue providing world-class solutions to our customers and partners.” THX Chief Technology Officer Scott Francis will continue in his operational duties, advancing the THX Certification business and product development programs. Bill Rusitzky continues as Chief Revenue Officer. Both of them will directly report to Tan moving forward from here. ### About THX: Founded by legendary filmmaker George Lucas in 1983, THX Ltd. and its partners provide premium entertainment experiences in the cinema, in the home and on the go.
