THX Ltd. inaugura nuevos laboratorios de audio y vídeo en Asia; se convierte en el único centro de pruebas autorizado tanto para HDR10+ como para Eclipsa Audio en China

San Francisco, CA, March 31, 2026 — THX Ltd., a globally renowned company founded by Hollywood greats specializing in high-fidelity audio and video tuning, certification, and technology, today announced it has expanded its global footprint to include new audio-video technology laboratories in Asia—THX Shenzhen and THX Taipei. These two different regional state-of-the-art facilities have been designed to provide THX® Certification and Tuned by THX™ services, as well as to support THX® Spatial Audio innovations. In addition, the company today announced that its THX Shenzhen lab has been approved by HDR10+ Technologies, LLC as an Authorized Test Center (ATC) for consumer electronics device manufacturers seeking HDR10+ and Eclipsa Audio certifications. The THX Shenzhen lab is the first facility in China that is an Authorized Test Center (ATC) for both HDR10+ and Eclipsa Audio.

This expansion strengthens THX’s global testing, tuning, and immersive audio and video technology infrastructure. The new THX Shenzhen lab will support the rapidly growing ecosystem of HDR10+ enabled displays, projectors, monitors, and entertainment devices, and the growing demand for the open Eclipsa Audio standard for TVs and sound devices.

“We are pleased to announce new THX facilities in Shenzhen and also in Taipei, expanding our ability to support global consumer electronics device manufacturers with leading‑edge, THX high‑fidelity services and technologies,” said Tuyen Pham, chief executive officer, THX Ltd. “To further strengthen our offerings for device manufacturers, we have also added the expertise and achieved the approval to provide HDR10+ and Eclipsa Audio testing services. The THX Shenzhen lab, as the only Authorized Test Center in China for both HDR10+ and Eclipsa Audio, marks an important milestone and a natural extension to our commitment to advancing picture and sound quality standards and experiences for consumers worldwide.”

The THX Shenzhen lab will conduct the full suite of HDR10+ certification protocols, including distribution device compliance, display performance measurement, metadata processing validation, HDR10+ ADVANCED and HDR10+ GAMING assessments. This work complements THX’s long‑standing methodology of conducting hundreds of tests to ensure devices reproduce audio and video with exceptional accuracy. Combined with HDR10+’s advanced luminance analysis and dynamic metadata workflow, manufacturers can deliver consumer experiences that preserve detail, accuracy, and creative intent across all lighting environments and content types. The HDR10+ Logo and Certification program has recently expanded support introducing HDR10+ ADVANCED in December 2025.

“For years, our organization has been in the forefront of testing and certifying thousands of HDR10+ devices at a dozen locations globally, to ensure the highest level of performance”, stated Bill Mandel, co-manager HDR10+ Technologies LLC. “Now thanks to THX LTD’s recent announcement, our partners located throughout Asia will be able to have their latest HDR10+ and Eclipsa Audio devices evaluated at one location, in the most timely and cost-effective manner possible.”

Eclipsa Audio, el nuevo estándar abierto para el audio inmersivo y la reproducción

THX Shenzhen is also an Authorized Test Center for Eclipsa Audio. Being an ATC for Eclipsa Audio means THX is now an officially recognized third party facility authorized to perform the rigorous tests required for devices seeking to earn Eclipsa Audio certification.

“At Google, we are committed to advancing open standards that elevate the media experience for everyone, and Eclipsa Audio, based on the Immersive Audio Model and Formats (IAMF), is a significant leap forward in bringing high-fidelity, adaptive sound to the ecosystem. By enabling audio to intelligently adapt to diverse playback environments—from TVs to soundbars—Eclipsa Audio ensures that users experience content exactly as the creators intended. We are thrilled to see THX Shenzhen become an Authorized Test Center, providing the rigorous validation necessary to bring this next-generation immersive audio technology to consumers worldwide,” says Matt Frost, director of product management at Google.
