Public Relations Lead – Contract

This position reports to the Vice President of Global Marketing

Specific Responsibilities

The Public Relations contractor will be responsible for managing all Public Relations for the THX Brand globally and the content it delivers, as well as ensuring that the THX brand message is consistent, timely, and relevant.

More specifically, on a part-time basis, as an independent contractor, you will work with the VP of Global Marketing to:

  • Plan, develop and implement PR strategies, goals and metrics
  • Create publicity campaigns that ignite target audiences, viewers and users
  • Foster and leverage key relationships with reporters, editors and media outlets
  • Liaise with, and answer inquiries from media and other organizations
  • Work with media outlets to publish timely company information, such as press releases, brochures, and other materials
  • Research, write and distribute press releases
  • Collate and analyze media coverage
  • Refine core messaging to ensure organizational consistency in all aspects of communication including development, organizing and education
  • Ensure consistent framing of messages
  • Compose and edit blog posts, case studies, speeches, articles, etc.
  • Document presence at events, conferences, and speaking engagements
  • Compose and edit blog posts, case studies, speeches, articles, etc.
  • Prepare and supervise the production of collateral (one sheets, videos, etc.)
  • Organize events including press conferences, exhibitions, etc.

  • In concert with the social media / community manager, coordinate campaign efforts for our social media channels and community outreach
  • Source and manage speaking and sponsorship opportunities
  • Manage the PR aspects of any potential crises


Qualified candidates must have the following:

  • Be a senior level communications professional with extensive experience in the entertainment and technology verticals
  • A proven track record for blending a variety of ingredients into a potent mix that brings a technology story to life in a personal way for millions of people
  • Direct relationships with reporters and editors across a range of entertainment, technology, and broader consumer media outlets
  • Skills interacting directly with the media, including on-the-record interviews
  • Proficiency in the best practices of corporate communications and familiarity with the latest tools
  • Experience partnering with other teams to ensure the best possible final product


Bachelor’s degree required

  • Part-Time (20 Hours a week)
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require travel within the THX organization or to other organizations (Estimated at 25%)
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 10 pounds on occasion. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
