Auro 3D 11.1, the Next Dimension in Theatrical Sound – Barco and THX will present the creation of the next generation of 11.1 3D sound systems for cinemas. Following will be a short film explaining the production process by the team at Skywalker Sound to create the 11.1 Auro 3D mix for Lucasfilm Ltds latest film, Red Tails. Red Tails is the world’s first 11.1 soundtrack released to theaters and opens nationwide January 20th.

New Approaches to Film Restoration in an ACES Environment – Image Systems will discuss The ACES environment and how it offers the potential for improvements in how film material is restored. Its wider gamut can allow more original content to be recaptured, processed and distributed as the original filmmakers intended. Combining ACES with OpenEXR and HDR tools provides even more latitude for uncovering the beauty and original intent of archival footage while simultaneously allowing for a “future-proof” Digital Master.

Participation in the Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years or older at time of entry and have internet access. RANDOM DRAWING:

One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be chosen at approximately 11:00 AM PST on December 9, 2011 among eligible entries received during the Entry Period. The drawing shall be conducted by Sponsor, whose decisions are final with respect to all aspects of the Sweepstakes. Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions or cash redemptions are allowed except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater approximate value due to prize unavailability.

ODDS OF WINNING

The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

THE FOLLOWING PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED

The Winner will be awarded one (1), one hundred dollar ($100) Gift Certificate to your local THX Certified Cinema. If a THX Certified Cinema is not within reasonable distance from the Winner’s place of residence, the Winner will be awarded one (1), one hundred dollar ($100) Gift Certificate to the closest non-THX Certified Cinema. The winner will also receive 2 THX Baseball hats and 2 THX Tex Squeeze Dolls, worth a total approximate value of thirty five dollars ($35).

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Entrants must meet the eligibility criteria and enter in the manner described above. By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor which shall be final and binding in all respects. By entering the THX Movie Ticket Sweepstakes, participants agree to have their name posted on the THX Ltd. website, Twitter and/or other social media sites to announce their winning without any fee or other form of compensation.

NOTIFICATION:

Sponsor shall notify winner by email within one (1) business day after selection. Winner shall have three (3) business days from transmittal of notice to respond and claim a prize. If Sponsor is unable to contact Winner or if Winner does not respond within five (5) business days, the prize will be forfeited, the entrant will be disqualified, and another potential winner will be selected by the judges, as necessary. In case of a dispute related to the identity of an entry, the entry will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the username which made the entry. The “authorized account holder” is that person or entity who is assigned the username. Potential winners may be required to provide credible evidence to prove that the potential winner is an “authorized account holder” of the account associated with the winning entry.

FULFILLMENT:

All prizes will be awarded to the winners during within seven (7) to ten (10) business days of receiving all required forms.
