Rick Dean, vice president of strategic development at THX and chairman of the 3D@Home Consortium, will discuss the future of 3D technology for home entertainment applications during his session: “3D and Maintaining Creative Intent.” Dean will address the need for consumer electronics manufacturers to consider the artistic intent and original vision of the filmmaker, game developer or broadcaster when developing new 3D technologies for the home.
Andrew Poulain, director of sales at THX, will discuss trends in surround sound technology in a session titled: “Multichannel Sound Systems for 3D Visual Entertainment.” Poulain will focus much of his presentation on how multichannel hardware and software applications can be developed to leverage and complement emerging 3D displays to create a highly immersive experience for consumers.
