MONSTER AND THX TO BRING MORE HIGH PERFORMANCE CABLES TO HOME THEATER CONSUMERS

Monster to Double the Number of THX Certified Cable Products Offered to Consumers

BRISBANE and SAN RAFAEL, Calif., March 31, 2005 - Monster Cable Products, Inc. and THX Ltd. announced that a new wave of THX Certified Monster cables is set for a Spring 2005 launch. Currently, Monster offers approximately 60 THX Certified A/V cables with 60 additional cables planned for the new release. THX will also work closely with Monster to develop programs to educate retail sales staff and to create marketing promotions to drive products through the channel.

“THX is one of the strongest brands among home theater customers,” said Noel Lee, The Head Monster. “Combined with Monster’s branding for high performance cables, Monster’s THX Certified series cables offer incredible sound and picture with the highest quality in an unbeatable dual branding. Monster’s THX Certified cable and speaker lines offer consumers a matched system combination that provides a performance edge unequaled by any other manufacturer.”

“We are thrilled to continue and strengthen this valued alliance with Monster,” added Joseph Lias, President of THX. “THX certification sets forth a stringent set of design and engineering standards supported by sonic and precision electrical parametric testing and approval by the THX labs. By certifying Monster products, we are ensuring that consumers will receive a superior cable product that delivers a high quality audio and video experience. When combined with other THX Certified components in the home entertainment system, Monster cables ensure the consumer experiences entertainment the way the original creator intended.”

THX Certification provides technologies and specifications for improving the design of high performance home entertainment products. This includes a series of electrical, physical, and ergonomic specifications that guarantee top-notch reproduction and premium-grade construction. The result is proper cable performance, reliability, and ease of use that ensures that the net benefit (absolutely best possible sound and picture) is achieved.

Monster’s THX Certified cables have a unique color-coding system that THX developed in conjunction with Monster. The new system was designed to establish an easy, color-coding connection scheme. If speakers are hooked up incorrectly and produce a system that is out of phase, performance suffers. THX’s color-coding system eliminates this issue.

Monster and THX are brands synonymous with innovation and quality. THX has revolutionized how people experience entertainment content by using the science of sensation to develop technologies and certification programs that ensure the best possible sound and visual presentations. Today, THX is widely recognized by billions of consumers in automobiles, movie theaters, home entertainment products, video games and DVDs. Once a product is designed, tested and certified by THX, it carries an internationally recognized performance endorsement, one that helps consumers navigate the complex world of home electronics and make more informed purchasing decisions.

Monster has 75 trademarks and is one of the world’s best known and recognized consumer brands. Monster Ultra Series and Home Theater Series THX Certified products have joined other famous Monster family brands, such as Monster Power, that consumers recognize as the highest quality product available.

Monster has had a long successful partnership with THX. The company worked closely with THX to help create the original THX cable specification and design the first THX Certified speaker cables. Monster continued that tradition by introducing two complete lines of THX Certified home theater audio and video cables more than two years ago. Working closely with THX, Monster is continuing to research and develop new products worthy of THX certification.

“Dealers will benefit greatly from our efforts as the combination of THX and Monster assures the consumer that they are buying the best possible product available,” continued The Head Monster. “Name recognition aside for both THX and Monster, the dealer can now also educate the consumer on why THX certification is so important and that they are now able to bring the movie theater experience home with them.”
