Engineer
THX has an immediate full time opening for an Engineer reporting to the Engineering Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an understanding of A/V encoding and content production (Movies, Music, Games, Broadcast, etc)
- Support and apply specifications for CE device implementation and application of media driven technology. Examples are: HD DVD and BluRay Optical Disc Players, Video Scalars, Video Displays and A/V receivers.
- Maintain and apply test procedures
- Identify and debug bit-level digital data communications
- Work in a group dynamic to communicate and report upon progress and issues
- Position will be based in San Rafael – some travel required
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Must have related experience, or equivalent, in audio and/or video engineering
- Must be familiar with audio and video production techniques and philosophies
- Must have working knowledge of audio and video standards and encodings
- Should possess a passion for, and understanding of, the up-to-the-minute trends that are driving the consumer electronics industry
- Must have experience implementing mathematical and analytical solutions to realtime applications
- Must have strong problem solving, critical thinking, writing, and communication skills
